Letter: President Trump should be asked to resign

Those who hoped President Donald Trump would “Make America Great Again” are being sorely disappointed. This country is in greater danger than it has been for decades. Russian infiltration of emails is a part of a pattern of disinformation that Russia has been following in various countries since the fall of the Soviet Empire. The Trump administration admits to various meetings with Russians, but there is much to be uncovered in these relationships.

Yet the state department is being cut by 37 percent and staff has been gutted, without replacement. Rex Tillerson has gone to Asia, forbidding reporters to travel alongside him. The Coast Guard is to have its budget cut and so is the TSA.

Scott Pruitt, head of the EPA, does not ‘believe’ in the damage caused by the human contribution to carbon emissions levels, despite scientific data to the contrary, so he will allow our commitment to the global climate agreement to be loosened.

The “travel ban” addressed to Muslims, has cost the trust of those who would have come on HB and other visas. This paranoia is not what this country was founded on. Most of the terror activities in this country were committed by those who were mentally unstable and who had access to guns. Guns do not make this country safer.

Now we have 46 U.S. Attorneys who were given ‘same day’ requests for their resignations. Normally they wait until they are replaced. Our president is unstable. He should be asked for his resignation.
