Just a few years ago the people involved with building the Physicians’ Clinic of Iowa convinced the mayor and City Council to close Second Avenue SE so they could build this building and have all of their services in one location.
Now they want to build a second building and parking ramps and have the city taxpayers help with the payment.
So my question and the City Council should be asking is: Why wasn’t PCI built taller to begin with or designed to have floors added? Then any necessary parking ramp could be built on existing street level parking areas they already have.
