Letter: Muhammad Ali only one of many beloved figures

Muhammad Ali, formerly Cassius Clay, often referred to as “The Louisville Lip,” was one of the finest fighters that ever stepped into the ring.

Sportscaster Bryant Gumbelproclaimed Ali the most beloved figure in the entire world.

Whoa, Bryant. Aren’t you overlooking Martin Luther King, Sister Teresa, The Dalai Lama, The Pope, Jonas Salk, Yosemite Sam, Charlie Brown, Snoopy, James Bond? No doubt Congress will rush through a bill adding Ali to Mount Rushmore.
