Many people are so vocal about the Second Amendment and their Constitutional rights, but they don’t know that this is not a right that comes from the Constitution. They scream about “activist” judges, but the individual right to own firearms decision came from a judge, not the Constitution, as Grau points out.
What’s the answer? Education. Among the most important people in our country are the social studies teachers. I wonder if they’re taking advantage of current events to educate young people about the Second Amendment. I can only hope so.
Not terrorism, not the economy, not immigrants, but ignorance will always be the greatest threat this country faces.
