Letter: Gun rights trump human rights

Gov. Terry Branstad signs a gun rights bill encouraging more people to walk around with loaded weapons. Knowing that more folks are going to be wandering about packing heat and looking for an excuse to exercise “their right to use it” certainly doesn’t make me feel any safer.

Our legislature and governor seem totally clueless to the fact that more guns mean more gun deaths. It’s a sad day in Iowa when gun rights are considered more important than human rights.
