Letter: Congress needs to do its job

Section 8 of the U.S. Constitution: The Congress shall have power to lay and collect taxes, duties, imposts and excises, to pay the debts and provide for the common defense and general welfare of the U.S.

Webster’s Dictionary definition of general: 1. involving, applicable to, or affecting the whole. 2. involving, relating to, or applicable to every member of a class, kind or group. 3. not confined by specialization or careful limitation.

Webster’s definition of welfare: 1. The state of doing well especially in respect to good fortune, happiness, well-being, or prosperity. 2. a. aid in the form of money or necessities for those in need. b. an agency or program through which such aid is distributed.

In my opinion, our Congress needs to fulfill its Constitutional responsibility. In other words, they need to do their jobs.
