Letter: Cindy Riley for Coralville City Council

I am excited to vote for Cindy Riley for Coralville City Council.

She is a native daughter of Coralville from a local farming family and a mom of three successful daughters who returned to her roots to open Winan’s Chocolates, a Coralville small business.

She spent years in corporate America, working in IT and operations management with large corporations in various states. As a former accountant/business person, I like to talk turkey with her regarding the business world and how it impacts our town. I come away from my conversations with her, amazed at the depth of her knowledge on many subjects, her ability to articulate her positions, and her natural curiosity regarding new ideas.

I’m passionate about her candidacy because she would be the best of all worlds for Coralville — a hometown lady with excellent and wide-ranging business experience and the ability to understand Coralville’s complex, sophisticated business dealings and public/private development. She is committed to our parks, biking trails, and landscaped public areas. And while she is cognizant of Coralville’s challenges, she is forward looking, committed to logical solutions building on the good work already in place. We need your vote for Riley on Nov. 7. She has mine.
