Letter: Brent Oleson is hard working, authentic

I’ve always admired things that are authentic — whether it’s a building, a place or a person. And that’s the first word that comes to mind about Linn County Supervisor Brent Oleson. He’s authentic.

Over the past eight years, Brent has carved out an incredible niche with his service to Linn County. Over the past five months, I’ve had the unique opportunity to see this service up close and in action.

Brent puts his talents and interests to valuable use for our residents every day. He is passionate about protecting and enhancing our natural resources, and promoting outdoor recreational opportunities. He thoughtfully allocates taxpayer dollars to programs and projects that are truly worthwhile. He isn’t afraid to ask tough questions. And perhaps most impressive, Brent doesn’t try to be someone he’s not. He is honest, original, hardworking and transparent, in the very best senses of those words.

In short, Brent is authentic. That’s quite a statement in an age when politicians are often viewed in a very different light.

That’s why I am proud to support Brent Oleson’s re-election campaign. The people of Linn County are lucky to have him.
