Letter: Blum will continue to fight for you

I am writing to request your readers vote for Congressman Rod Blum.

I have become acquainted with Congressman Blum over the past year, since becoming disabled and unable to return to work since July 2015. I called Congressman Blum’s office when I felt I had nowhere else to turn and asked him for a meeting so I could tell him about my situation. We met in person within a few weeks and he listened to every word I had to say.

Since surgery in July 2015, I have had to fight to get Medicaid and Medicare benefits. Congressman Rod Blum and staff made things happen for me to go to a clinic that Medicaid initially would not approve. They helped me when I had questions about the complicated application, to get recertified and found a program within Medicaid where I would qualify for my needed medication.

Congressman Blum is working for all of us. He wants to correct the Medicaid system and make things fair for everyone. He is working on the health care system to make changes so people like myself can have home health care and stay out of the expensive emergency room or hospital.

If it would not have been for Congressman Blum, I would not have found the Medicaid program I am on. They were solely responsible for finding the program that I am on — there are many different programs, but the information on them is buried so deep in the system you can’t find them on your own.

Congressman Blum cares and if you want someone in office who is fighting for you, our health care system and trying to correct other issues in our government, then vote for Blum in November.
