Letter: Biechler thanked for dedication to county

The legacy Dan Biechler leaves to Linn County as he retires can be counted in many ways — all of which will continue to impact the county indeed the state for decades. He has build and inspired a cohesive staff that will carry forth his ideas and ideals. His leadership style included encouragement, enablement, inclusiveness, sharing, and forging partnerships within his local organization and the community at large.

As member volunteers with the Cedar Amateur Astronomers, my husband and I have learned to appreciate how much Linn County has to be thankful for in his years of service — as well as for the strong and effective staff he leaves behind. We are fortunate to be the benefactors of his leadership, vision, service, and the exemplary organization he has influenced so strongly.

Many thanks, Dan, for your dedication and great heart.
