Iowa needs a younger voice

As a young female Iowan, it is becoming more and more difficult to want to stay in Iowa given what the Republican-led Legislature has done in the last two years.

When Zach Wahls announced his campaign to fill the seat by retiring Sen. Bob Dvorsky, my interest was piqued.

I had watched Wahls speak in front of the Iowa Legislature in 2011 and was impressed.

Getting to know him over the last few months has impressed me even more. It is time that we elect experienced youth into our state legislature.

Wahls has proved that he is a strong advocate nationally and has the dedication, compassion and tenacity to bring true Iowa values back to the state I grew up in and love.

Electing a strong advocate for women, who was raised by two remarkable women and can bring the perspective of a younger generation, is of upmost importance.

Please join me in supporting Wahls for Senate District 37 on June 5.
