Cathy Glasson will fight for most marginalized

We can no longer allow politics as usual as we come toward the June 5 primary election.

This year, instead of promoting Iowa values, the legislature and the governor put a law in place that penalizes cities and counties for supporting our immigrant and refugee community members.

Just recently, our governor signed into law one of the most restrictive abortion regulations in the country — basically, letting the entire country know we care more about our guns than we care about women’s reproductive rights.

This isn’t politics. This is personal.

We can no longer allow politics as usual.

And that is why I stand with Cathy Glasson.

I’m tired of waiting to see who Des Moines will target next. I’m tired of having to compromise on social justice issues. I’m tired of being complacent.

I need a governor who will fight with and for the most marginalized in our community, whose platform is built on a higher minimum wage, universal health care, and protecting union rights. I need you to empower yourselves and vote for a champion on these issues. I’m standing with Cathy. We need to vote for our values in June and November.
