Truck backs over two in Cedar Rapids parking lot

Cedar Rapids police officers responded to an accident at Mikey’s Family Restaurant parking lot, 1616 1st Ave NE, at around 10 a.m. where it was reported that two people were pinned underneath a vehicle.

According to a news release, officers arrived on scene and found one man and one woman underneath a truck after the driver of the vehicle backed over them.

Both of these subjects had been on foot in the parking lot before being struck, according to the release.

Emergency personnel worked to raise the vehicle and both individuals were eventually transported to the hospital with injuries, which police believe are not life-threatening according to the release.
