One hospitalized after Cedar Rapids shooting

CEDAR RAPIDS – Cedar Rapids police are investigating a shooting that happened Saturday morning.

According to a Cedar Rapids police news release, officers were called to 53 Dartmouth St. SW at 11:40 a.m. for a report of a shooting. Responding officers found one person inside the home suffering from a gunshot wound.

Police said the victim was taken to the hospital for treatment for non-life threatening injuries. The investigation into the shooting remains open and police said no further information will be released at this time.

Anyone with information on the shooting is asked to call Linn County Crime Stoppers at 1-800-CS-CRIME or send a text to CRIMES with the tip and 5227 in the message.
