Marion police seek information on robbery of Verizon Wireless store

The Marion Police Department is seeking public assistance in its investigation of a Monday morning robbery of a Verizon Wireless story on 7th Avenue.

According to a media release from the Marion Police Department, officers responded to the store at 10:17 a.m. after the report of a robbery at the store located at 2240 7th Ave. suite 5 in Marion. Once on scene, officers determined that two black males wearing masks, glasses, and gloves had entered the store and demanded cellphones from store employees.

No one was injured during the incident, and no weapons were displayed during the robbery, according to the release. Employees on scene were still determining what items had been taken during the robbery, according to the release.

Police say one of the men was wearing a dark blue hooded sweatshirt with a white shirt underneath, along with dark pants and tennis shoes. The second man is described as wearing a red hooded sweatshirt, dark jeans, and brown work boots. Both men wore white dust masks and dark glasses.
