CEDAR RAPIDS — A Cedar Rapids woman and a Waterloo man were caught in a prostitution sting Wednesday.
Public safety spokesman Greg Buelow said police did a prostitution sting operation at an area hotel on Wednesday after receiving a number of complaints about prostitution being advertised on various websites.
“A secondary goal was to locate and investigate any cases of human trafficking,” Buelow said.
During the sting, two subjects — 37-year-old Amanda M. Guzzle and 25-year-old Shaun N. Anderson — offered to perform sex acts in exchange for money. As a result of that investigation, both Guzzle and Anderson were arrested and have been charged with prostitution.
