Marion police looking for suspect in theft of vehicle left running

MARION — Marion police are seeking the public’s help in identifying the suspect in a vehicle theft case.

According to a Marion police news release, at 6:15 a.m. Dec. 30, officers took a report of a vehicle stolen from Casey’s, 680 Lindale Drive. Police said a gray 2012 Ford Escape had been left running while the owner went inside. When the owner came out, they learned the Escape had been stolen.

The vehicle was later recovered in Cedar Rapids, police said.

Police obtained surveillance footage of the suspect and have released a photo of the suspect. Anyone with information on the suspect’s identity is asked to call police at 319-377-1511 or Linn County CrimeStoppers at 1-800-CS-CRIME.
