UPDATE: Man killed in motorcycle crash near Waubeek identified

CENTRAL CITY — A man driving his motorcycle died in a single-vehicle crash Wednesday night.

According to the Linn County Sheriff’s Office, Linn County deputies and rescue, along with the Central City Fire Department, Lifeguard and Center Point Ambulance Service, responded to a motorcycle crash in the 4400 block of Boy Scouts Road, just north of Waubeek, at 6 p.m. Wednesday. Authorities said the 37-year-old man, identified as Chad A. Jolson of Marion, was southbound on Boy Scouts Road and lost control of his motorcycle before entering the ditch. Jolson — who was not wearing a helmet at the time of the crash — was pronounced dead at the scene.

The crash remains under investigation by the sheriff’s office.
