MARION — A former Cedar Rapids Rampage soccer player is accused of threatening a woman and holding her against her will.

According to the Linn County Attorney’s Office, Marion police officers were called to Kum & Go around 3:30 a.m. on March 18 for a report of a woman being chased. Responding officers learned that Patrizio Paradiso, 23, had threatened the woman with a knife, according to reports. Paradiso also held the woman against her will, authorities said.

Paradiso was arrested and faces charges of assault while displaying a dangerous weapon and false imprisonment.

Paradiso was signed by the Cedar Rapids Rampage in September 2015. Rampage general manager and co-owner Chris Kokalis said Paradiso has not been with the team since its season ended in February.
