TODDVILLE — A Cedar Rapids man was arrested Tuesday after he was caught dozing in a stolen car, authorities said.

According to the Linn County Attorney’s Office, Linn County deputies were called to a home in the 3400 block of Otter Road in Toddville for a suspicious vehicle parked there. Responding deputies found Timothy J. Meier, 39, asleep inside the vehicle, a 2011 Dodge Caliber. The car was determined to be stolen.

Authorities said Meier tried to run from the deputies, but was captured and taken into custody. Meier was found to be in possession of marijuana, authorities said.

Meier is charged with first-degree theft and possession of a controlled substance.
