Iowa City police trying to identify assault suspect

IOWA CITY — Iowa City police are looking for the public’s help in identifying an assault suspect.
On Wednesday, the police department released surveillance video taken in downtown Iowa City. Police said a man in an orange short sleeve shirt is wanted for questioning about an assault that happened Sept. 2. Police said the assault victim was hit over the head with a bottle from behind.
Iowa City Area Crime Stoppers is offering a reward of up to $1,000 for information leading to the arrest of the suspect. Anyone with information is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 358-TIPS.
