Iowa City police investigating robbery in parking lot

IOWA CITY — Iowa City police are investigating an early morning robbery.

According to a department news release, officers were called to the area of 831 Cross Park Ave. around 1:27 a.m. Tuesday for a report of a robbery that had just occurred. The victim reported that five juveniles had approached him in the parking lot, took his wallet and assaulted him.

The man told police one of the juveniles had brass knuckles, but no other weapons were displayed. Police said the man was not injured and officers were unable to locate the suspects.

Iowa City Area CrimeStoppers is offering a reward of up to $1,000 for information leading to an arrest in this case. Anyone with information is asked to call 358-TIPS.
