Iowa City police investigate car-pedestrian collision

Incident took place near Ace Hardware

IOWA CITY — Iowa City police responded to a car-pedestrian collision Monday morning.

Iowa City Police Sgt. Scott Gaarde said officers were called to Ace Hardware, 1558 Mall Drive, at 10:32 a.m.

According to the call for service, a woman was hit and run over by a vehicle that was backing up. The call indicates the woman was sitting up and talking on her phone after the collision.

The extent of the woman’s injuries was unknown Monday morning.
