Iowa City woman faces charges after pulling bat, knife during brawl

IOWA CITY — An Iowa City woman faces multiple charges, including a felony, for her alleged her role in a brawl last month.

According to Iowa City police criminal complaints, officers were called to Town & Campus Apartments, 1100 Arthur St., at 1:20 p.m. Dec. 18 for a report of a fight involving multiple people wielding weapons, including a baseball bat and knives. By the time officers arrived, most of the suspects had fled, police said.

Officers spoke with the victims and learned that 22-year-old Rayshonda P. Hannon swung a baseball bat at one of the victims. When the victim knocked away the bat, Hannon allegedly pulled a long kitchen knife on the victim.
