Iowa City Police investigating strong-arm robbery

The Iowa City Police are investigating after a man reported being pushed to the ground and being robbed.

Just before 1 a.m. Tuesday, police responded to the area of 2722 Wayne Ave., according to a media release. The man reported that a man in his late 20s or early 30s, with a medium build and very short or no hair, stole an undisclosed amount of cash after pushing him to the ground. The suspect fled north from the scene and did not display any weapons, according to the release.

Officers searched the area, but were unable to locate the suspect. Iowa City CrimeStoppers is offering a reward of up to $1000 for information leading to the arrest of the suspect or suspects. Anyone with information is urged to contact CrimeStoppers at (319) 358-TIPS (8477).
