Iowa City police investigating attempted sexual assault

IOWA CITY — Iowa City police are investigating a report of an attempted sexual assault.

Officers were called to 311 E. College St. at 2:11 a.m. There, the female victim told police she was talking to a man in the breezeway next to the building when he began to assault her. When the woman yelled for help, the man fled.

The suspect is described as being 6 feet tall, 160-175 pounds and with short hair. He was roughly 25-30 years old and was wearing a light-colored shirt and dark pants, police said.

Anyone with information on this incident is asked to call Iowa City Area CrimeStoppers at 358-TIPS.
