Iowa City man faces 25 years for break-in, attack

IOWA CITY — An Iowa City man faces 25 years in prison for a July burglary.

According to the Iowa City Police Department, on July 15, 35-year-old Santiago Garcia forced his way into a residence in the Forest View Trailer Court, where he also resides. Police said Garcia pushed the female owner of the residence before attacking a man inside the residence.

Police said Garcia attacked the man with a sharp object, which caused a puncture wound to the victim’s left temple.

Garcia has been arrested and faces one count of first-degree burglary, a Class B felony.
