Coralville man accused of assaulting pregnant woman inside home

Police say incident took place July 4

CORALVILLE — A Coralville man is accused of forcing his way into a home and assaulting a pregnant woman earlier this year.

According to a Coralville police criminal complaint, around 11:10 p.m. on July 4, Artquon L. Kirksey, 18, forced his way into a home in the 2000 block of 10th Street Court. Once inside, police said Kirksey punched a pregnant woman in the stomach and on the side of her face, causing her pain.

The woman told police Kirksey came to the residence to fight her brother.

Kirksey was arrested on Wednesday and faces one count of first-degree burglary, a felony punishable by up to 25 years in prison.
