Charges pending in Iowa County burglary investigation

HIGH AMANA — Charges are pending in an Iowa County burglary case that led investigators to Hiawatha.

According to the Iowa County Sheriff’s Office, a burglary took place in the early morning hours of Oct. 17 at the office of Amana Society Farms, 1300 200th Trail, High Amana. Authorities said an Amana Farms truck, as well as tools and electronics valued at approximately $35,000, were stolen.

Authorities said the investigation resulted in a search warrant being executed in Hiawatha with assistance from Cedar Rapids police. Police recovered the stolen truck and most of the other items.

The sheriff’s office said charges of possession of stolen goods are pending in the case, and more information will be released at a later time.
