Cedar River at Cedar Rapids entering minor flood stage

The River is expected to crest at 12.5 feet on Friday

The Cedar River at Cedar Rapids is nearing minor flood stage (12 feet) and is expected to crest in the early morning hours of Friday, June 15 at 12.5 feet, according to the National Weather Service.

Based on the NWS’s details on what is effected at different flood stages, water will affect the lowest sections of Otis Road SE when the river reaches 9.5 feet, and water will affect Osborn Park in Cedar Rapids when the river reaches 11.5 feet.

Additional rainfall is expected this morning across Eastern Iowa and will last into the early afternoon.
