Cedar Rapids woman and juvenile charged in armed burglary

CEDAR RAPIDS — A Cedar Rapids woman and an unnamed juvenile have been charged with burglary after they entered an area home while armed with a handgun.

According to police, 19-year-old Kylee S. Sakulin, of Cedar Rapids, and a 16-year-old male on Saturday entered a Cedar Rapids residence on Samuel Court to commit a burglary.

Cedar Rapids public safety spokesman Greg Buelow said police reports indicate the juvenile was in possession of the gun during the burglary.

Sakulin was arrested early Saturday and faces one count of first-degree burglary, a Class B felony punishable by up to 25 years in prison.

The juvenile also has been charged with first-degree burglary as well as a serious misdemeanor count of assault with a weapon.
