Cedar Rapids police respond to shots fired at apartment complex

No one was injured in a shots fired incident at a Cedar Rapids apartment complex late Friday night, according to a media release.

Police were dispatched to 331 Kirkwood Ct. SW at 11:59 p.m. after a report of shots fired in the parking lot.

Security officers for the apartment complex advised police that a shot was fired from a tan or brown car that had fled, according to the release. The shot hit a building, but no one was injured.

This investigation is ongoing.
