Cedar Rapids police respond to car sinking in Cedar River


The Cedar Rapids Fire and Police Departments responded to reports of a car sinking in the Cedar River at around 4:30 p.m. Sunday.

According to a news release, the incident took place at the Mohawk Boat Ramp, 101 J Ave NE.

Upon arrival, firefighters found a woman and two children who had exited the car and found their way onto ski boats on the ramp.

They were taken to local hospitals and the incident remains under investigation.
