CEDAR RAPIDS — A Cedar Rapids man faces robbery and theft charges for two incidents alleged to have occurred this week.

Cedar Rapids public safety spokesman Greg Buelow said officers were called to Fourth Street and Ninth Avenue SW at 9:44 p.m. Tuesday for a report of a robbery. The two male victims said that two men — one of which was armed — took their bicycles. Police learned that a Dodge 1500 pickup was involved in the robbery.

About 25 hours later, police responded to the area of B Avenue and 12th Street NW at 10:35 p.m. Wednesday for a disturbance that possibly involved shots fired. Responding officers spoke with 31-year-old Bryan Finn, who said he was shot at in the 300 block of 10th Street SW, Buelow said.

While speaking with Finn, officers determined he was associated with a Dodge 1500 parked in the area. Finn admitted to driving the truck. Buelow said police determined that the truck had been reported stolen and that Finn put fake license plates on it to conceal that it was stolen.

Officers investigating the bike robbery also determined than Finn was involved in that incident.

Finn was arrested and has been charged with first-degree robbery and first-degree theft.
