Cedar Rapids man accused of sexually abusing 5-year-old

CEDAR RAPIDS — A Cedar Rapids man is accused of sexually abusing a five-year-old girl last year.

According to the Linn County Attorney’s Office, the alleged abuse occurred in Cedar Rapids on Dec. 27, 2017. Authorities said 55-year-old Michael L. Paul performed a sex act on the victim and forced her to perform a sex act on him.

Paul has been arrested by Cedar Rapids police and charged with second-degree sexual abuse, a Class B felony punishable by up to 25 years in prison.
