CEDAR RAPIDS — A fire did moderate damage to a Cedar Rapids home Monday night.
According to the Cedar Rapids Fire Department, crews were called to 1638 B Ave. at 7:58 p.m. for a report of smoke in a second floor bathroom. Responding firefighters encountered smoke on the first and second floors and found fire in the wall of the first floor. Authorities said the fire spread to the first floor ceiling, walls and attic.
A hole was cut in the roof of the home to ventilate the heat and smoke, authorities said.
No one was injured and the cause of the fire remains under investigation.
