CEDAR RAPIDS — A basement fire damaged a Cedar Rapids home Wednesday morning.

According to the Cedar Rapids Fire Department, firefighters were called to 361 21st St. SE at 10:56 a.m. Wednesday for a report of smoke coming from the home. The caller — who was in the home — told authorities they did not know where the smoking was coming from.

By the time crews arrived, two occupants were out of the home. Firefighters entered the home and found a fire in the basement, which was knocked down by 11:15 a.m.
