IOWA CITY — Iowa City police are investigating a cabdriver robbery.

Police said the cabdriver picked up a fare near downtown Iowa City and drove them to the 1400 block of Boyrum Street. The fare then robbed the cabdriver, who told police he thought the suspect was armed.

The suspect was a man in his late 20s or early 30s, six feet tall, weighing 200 to 225 pounds and wearing a dark-colored shirt and “strange pants,” police said. Responding officers were unable to find the suspect.

Anyone with information on the robbery is asked to call Iowa City Area CrimeStoppers at 358-TIPS.
