CEDAR RAPIDS — The Linn County Board of Supervisors this week agreed to replace county maintenance facilities at two major county parks, Morgan Creek and Pinicon Ridge.

The supervisors intend to approve a bond sale next month of up to $900,000 for each of the facilities.

The new bond sale will bring the county’s total debt to about $20 million. It is paying off debt related to building construction and renovation from the 2008 flood, a law-enforcement joint communications system, the county’s Juvenile Justice Center and the county’s election depot building, according to Steve Tucker, the county’s finance director.

He said the county’s bonding limit is nearly $800 million.
