A boil advisory for the City of Ely has been lifted, officials announced Monday.

Ely officials announced Friday that the city was under a boil advisory until as late as Tuesday, based on a recommendation by the Iowa Department of Natural Resources after a casing in the city’s water supply system was repaired.

“There’s nothing unsafe about our water,” said Luanne Miller, City of Ely deputy clerk.

Ely citizens had been encouraged to boil the water before drinking it.
