Open houses set at Iowa City schools

Public can tour new, renovated and challenged buildings

Open houses set at Iowa City schools

IOWA CITY — The Iowa City Community School District is hosting several upcoming open house events at schools, providing the public an opportunity to tour buildings that are new, buildings that have been renovated and buildings that are in need of assistance.

Open houses are set for the following times and locations:

l Wednesday, Sept. 6 — City High School, 5:30 to 7 p.m.; West High School, 6 to 7:30 p.m.; Liberty High School, 6:30 to 8 p.m.

l Thursday, Sept. 7 — Mann Elementary School, 5:30 to 7 p.m.; Borlaug Elementary School, 6 to 7:30 p.m.; Penn Elementary School, 6:30 to 8 p.m.

In addition, the district’s Leadership Team will host an open house from 4:30 to 6 p.m. today at the Educational Services Center, 1725 N. Dodge St., Iowa City. The intent is to provide community members an opportunity to meet and interact with the district administration team and ask questions about topics surrounding the school community, such as the upcoming $191.5 million general obligation bond and the district’s Facilities Master Plan.

All events are free to the public.
