New Solon Middle School welcomes students

$16M facility made possible through 2014 bond

SOLON — Middle school students in Solon arrived for their first day of classes Wednesday to a brand-new facility.

Funding for the new roughly $16 million Solon Middle School came as part of a $25.5 million bond voters passed in 2014 to build a new middle school and make additions to Solon High School.

This year only, fifth-graders are joining the student body at the middle school while construction continues on a new intermediate school in the district. When that school opens, Solon Middle School, 313 S. Iowa St., will house sixth- through eighth-graders.
