School closings are coming in as rapidly as new snow on the ground.

The Cedar Rapids School District, Marion School District, Lisbon School District, Mt. Vernon School District and Linn-Mar School District have all announced they will have no classes on Friday, February 9, due to predicted snow totals.

This closure is due to the inclement weather expected to blanket the Eastern Iowa area tonight, and throughout the day tomorrow.

According to the National Weather Service, the current forecast for Eastern Iowa has snowfall totals reaching 4 - 8 inches, with isolated areas experiencing totals as high as 10 inches.
