The new Czech Royal Court, a group of young Iowans with Czech ancestry, has been named and will soon kick off a series of summer appearances.

The Czech Heritage Foundation, based in Cedar Rapids, sponsors the Czech Royal Court; boys and girls ages 6 to 16 who represent their Czech heritage at festivals, parades and other events throughout the year.

The group participated in the Czech National Cemetery’s Memorial Day Service and now begins a full schedule of summer events, starting with the St. Ludmila’s Church Kolach Festival, where they will make an appearance at 3 p.m. Saturday, June 9. Other events this month include Ethnic Fest, which is returning to Czech Village on June 23-24, and the Freedom Festival Parade on June 30.

The new Czech Royal Court includes Czech Little Sisters and Little Brothers Ingrid and Lars Landa, Danika Robe, Alexander Sherman, Myah Morgan, Natalie Hopkins and Mikahla Powers.

Davis Robe was named Czech Prince and Isabel Sherman was named Czech Princess. Allyanna Pokorny and Grace Sherman were both named Mladsi Princezna, meaning younger princess.
