Vernon Research Group sold

CEDAR RAPIDS — Vernon Research Group was sold, effective Tuesday, to three of its long-term employees.

Renamed VRG Inc., the business is now owned by Linda Kuster, Lori Dockery and Andrew Juhl.

Founded in 1986 by Monica Vernon, former Cedar Rapids mayor tempore, the agency was purchased by The Gazette Company in 2013. The agency was sold by Folience Inc., The Gazette’s parent company, with retroactive ownership to April 1.

Details of the sale were not released.

“Since the company’s founding in 1986 by Monica Vernon, and through our positive association with Folience, the professionals at Vernon Research Group have always focused on delivering the highest quality, actionable research, enabling organizations to make decisions with confidence,” the new owners said in a statement.

“Now, as an independent firm, we look forward to continuing to provide that same value and guidance to our clients.”
