CEDAR RAPIDS — Planet X Fun Center has shut its doors.

The company announced the closure on its website and Facebook page with a short message.

Planet X, 4444 First Ave. NE, had activities and event space for children and families, that included laser tag, miniature golf and arcade games.

“Thank you for the memories, Eastern Iowa. We will miss you. Planet is now closed,” the message on the website reads. A message on Planet X’s answering machine also said it would close immediately.

The company said on its Facebook page that it would call and apologize to those with existing reservations Monday.

A reason for the closure was not provided. Planet X did not respond to an email or call from a reporter.

Planet X had been open for 19 years, according to its Facebook post.
