The Iowa Recycling Association named honorees of the 2014 Iowa Awards for Excellence in Recycling that will be presented July 17 at the annual IRA annual awards luncheon. They are: Recycling Facility of the Year: Cedar Rapids/Linn County Solid Waste Agency, Marion; Best School Recycling Program: Cedar Rapids Community School District, Cedar Rapids; Best Public Education Campaign: University of Iowa-RecycleMania, Iowa City; Best Business Recycling Program: Hy-Vee Inc.; and Recycler of the Year: City Carton Recycling Team, Iowa City.

Deidre Freeman of Grinnell, a diver and Olympic hopeful, has joined Team Eco Lips, a Cedar Rapids-based community of athletes, artists and activists who live a healthy, eco-active lifestyle.

CEC, Hiawatha, has been recognized for the third year in a row as part of The Channel Company’s CRN Solution Provider 500 list. The firm moved up in ranking from No. 382 last year to No. 357.

University of Iowa Affiliated Health Providers, a Medicare ACO partnership between Mercy Medical Center in Cedar Rapids and University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics in Iowa City, received a national Case In Point Platinum award from Dorland Health for recognition of the best in case management and care coordination in the category of Medicare programs.
