Bad weather moves Taste of Iowa City to Thursday
Annual event gets delayed a day because of high rain chances
IOWA CITY — The annual Taste of Iowa City, which this year has 40 eateries participating, will be delayed a day because of expected bad weather, the Iowa City Downtown District announced Tuesday.
The event is now set for 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday — not Wednesday, as initially planned, because the forecast called for about a 60 percent chance of rain.
Besides the date change, the downton event is expected to go on as usual.
Eateries offer samples that can be purchased using tickets. Tickets are $1 each and sold in strips of five at MidWestOne Bank locations or, during the event, at six ticket booths set up around the downtown and Northside areas.
