Cedar Rapids Public Library got a blast from the past Saturday as the Midwinter Renaissance Faire filled every corner of the library with medieval mischief.

If you missed your chance to attend the festival for yourself, here are four things you missed out on.

Juggling

Who knew juggling has been around for so long?

 

Like royal court jesters, these jugglers knew how to captivate an audience.

Giant turkey leg

In case you got a case of the medieval munchies, Greyhound Cafe was serving up some giant turkey legs.

Falcons

Humans often take inspiration from birds of prey. It’s easy to see why, the falcons presented by the Iowa Raptor Project at the Faire were ready to fly at a moment’s notice.

 

Sword fight

If a Renaissance Faire takes over a library and there isn’t any sword fighting did it ever truly happen?
