Anamosa

Sandra Lee Miller, 76, of Anamosa, died Monday, April 16, 2018, at Pinicon Place in Anamosa. The Rev. Scott Boone will celebrate a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. Tuesday, April 24, at St. Patrick Catholic Church, Anamosa. The family will greet friends from 4 to 7 p.m. Monday, April 23, at Goettsch Funeral Home, Anamosa, where a vigil service will be held at 7 p.m. Burial will be in Holy Cross Cemetery, Anamosa.
Sandra Lee Allen was born May 6, 1941, the daughter of Maynard and Inez (Keating) Allen. She attended Taylor Elementary and Jefferson High School in Cedar Rapids, graduating in 1959. She married James Miller on June 18, 1960, at St. Patrick Catholic Church, Cedar Rapids. He died in 2011. She worked as a dental assistant for Dr. G.H. Schupanitz and later at Rainbow Daycare, both in Anamosa, and retired in 2014.
She was a member of Epsilon Mothers Club, Cass Homemakers, Cornelian Club, Friends of the Library, Hospital Auxiliary and St. Patrick Catholic Church. She was also a Cub Scout den leader. She was an avid reader who liked to travel, go to garage sales, shop for antiques and attend the Jones County Fair. Above all else, she loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren
Those remembering her are her sons and their spouses, Mike and Jan Miller and David and Kim Miller, all of Anamosa; grandchildren, Amber (Judah) Miller Palnik, Columbus, Ohio, Kimberly (Luke) Baker, Creston, and Christopher Miller, Omaha, Neb.; a great-grandson, Owen Luke Baker; a sister, Sharon Weber, Cedar Rapids; sisters-in-law, Mary Lorenzen and Katie Prull; and a brother-in-law, Joe Miller.
In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents.
The family would like to thank the staff of Pinicon Place for the wonderful care they provided to Sandy.
